The Present, a Psychic Quality. Elements of a Metapsychology of Consciousness
Type de matériel :
19
For psychoanalysis, consciousness is simultaneously an obvious fact and an enigma. It can be conceived as a double screen of projection on which sensory perceptions and psychic formations arising from the drive movements are blended with the present. It emerges in the gap between perception and memory. In A Note Upon the ‘Mystic Writing-Pad’, Freud puts forward a ‘current’ conception of the present of consciousness devoid of any historical determinism. Sensory and endopsychic perception must have a quality of shared identity that allows them access to consciousness.
