The article points out that they have undergone marked changes with the recession, and it draws on ethnographic fieldwork in the region of Valencia. This permits us to describe various characteristics of these jobs: a strong influence on personal lives, low wages, and the effects of a disparity linked especially to increasing economic competition with immigrants.
