A territory of qualities: Cities in the agglomeration

The aim of this paper is to understand the quality of a territory whose identity remains undecided. We use an economics of convention approach because it allows us to understand what contributes to the value of a territory in the eyes of the populations living in the agglomeration of a medium-sized city: Évreux, Normandy. A conventionalist cartography, based on a survey of fifty people, is proposed and emphasizes the plurality of representations of quality, around which a provisional agreement in permanent collective renegotiation is formalized.
