The discovery of psychoanalysis is known to be inseparable from Freud’s experience of interpreting his own dreams. This defines a form of investigation that belongs to a particular form of thinking that the author believes are found in two eminent scientists: Boltzmann, a contemporary of Freud, and at present the physician Laughlin.
