Humming and absence

This paper recounts the psychoanalytic therapy of an 18-year-old adolescent boy, tormented by a body without desires, especially sexual, without expectations, without a definite form (“as if I were a humming sound”), plunged into a world of adults-dummies, of absent parents incapable of giving a meaning to life. The analysis lasted two years and above all developed around the theme of commitments that aroused “musical” emotions and restored desire and genital conflictuality to Alan. Alan “Livingstone” set off in search for his intuitive freedom.
