The face and voice in the treatment of children

The semiotic function of the face and voice in the treatment of children is discussed in the context of severe traumas. With Levinas, Winnicott and Laplanche, three complementary faces are described. The revival of primary creativity permitting the après-coup and subjective appropriation of the trauma comes up against the sway of the primitive superego. For Dario, a 10-year-old boy, the disappearance of auditory hallucinations came with the elaboration of the traumas experienced.
