The article analyses – in the register of a cultural anthropology informed by phenomenology – how the registration of the subject in temporality (temporalization) has taken on a new turn today, in which the relationship to decision and thinking about the future are in crisis. The notion of hopefulness is highlighted insofar as it can be the object of a “work” of expectation and signification accompanying temporalization. The field of filiation thus constitutes an essential domain in which the contemporary transition from theoretical considerations concerning primal states of mind to a difficult exercise of opening up new horizons is expressed. Finally, the theoretical and clinical issues involved in an inventive approach to temporality in analysis are presented, when issues of filiation and the “wear and tear” of transmission weaken the “fabrication” of time.
