Is the frequency of non-neurotic organizations related to the current upheavals in the social and cultural world? Starting from the observation of a psychic process negativizing interiority, which is a source of difficulties in the subject’s relation to his objects, the author describes what opposes the setting-up of an analytic object in various settings. The hypothesis of a subject unbinding of the ego (Green) which fends off the object of need explains the situation of distress during which the defensive paradox, limiting the efficacy of language-based representations, may be circumvented by the analyst/subject act of presence.
