Rebellion: between defensive movement and processuality

In young children, rebellion often constitutes a more or less organized defensive movement in the face of parental projections and a fragile family economy. It can also initiate a progressive movement of ego affirmation, particularly in the processual course of the treatment. Qualitative changes in the economic register and the binding function of symbolization offer hope that the child and his/her parents will be freed from repetition compulsion.
