The author reflects on the evolution of the image of psychoanalysis in Tunisia as a psychotherapeutic approach through two artistic productions: a sitcom, Choufli hal, and a film, Un divan à Tunis. This image is analysed from three angles: the perception of the psychotherapist and the setting and, finally, the psychotherapeutic approach. This comparative analysis of the two works reveals a number of similarities, but also differences linked above all to the political context and the emergence of a quest for freedom of thought and speech. Finally, these two productions, while reflecting the image of psychoanalysis in Tunisia at the time of their appearance, contributed to raising awareness of psychology in general and psychoanalysis in particular among the Tunisian population.
