Based on a reflection on the similarities and differences between several forces of social domination, this article reveals that minorization shapes the political socialization of individuals belonging to minority groups in a specific way. It first analyzes how minorization socializes individuals, considering the diversity of its forms as well as its crosscutting and continuous nature. It then argues that conscientization and conflictualization are at the heart of political socialization for minority groups and examines the plurality of postures that individuals are likely to adopt vis-à-vis their minority identity, as well as the vectors that promote or inhibit these processes. Finally, it examines the weight of minorization on the individual relationship to politics, looking at political values, participation, and orientation.
