Book XI of Apuleius’ Metamorphoses, or from Platonism to the Chaldaean Oracles
Type de matériel :

The last book of Apuleius’ Metamorphoses raises many interpretation problems: what link do these last pages, of a completely different tone from the rest of the novel, have with the preceding parts and with the author’s – philosophical – texts ? What reading should be given to the isiatic rites and the three successive initiations? These are the questions that we will try to answer by invoking the Platonic heritage but also the Chaldaean Oracles.
