The French senator Paul d’Estournelles de Constant was one of the most remarkable protagonists and most brilliant spokespersons of the interests of Albania. He was one of the rare statesmen to put himself completely at the disposal of the internationalization of the Albanian question and the admission of this new state as a subject of international law at the League of Nations. D’Estournelles de Constant acted intensively especially during 1920-1921. This paper presents the issue that senator brought to the fore with the institutions of the French state, the representatives of the two new neighbours of Albania, the kingdoms of Greece and of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenians, the most distinguished activists of Albanian diplomacy, and with the League of Nations especially. This issue concerns the respect of the integrity of the territories of the Albanian state, at least those of 1913, and the respect of the self-determination of the Albanian people.
