The Role of a Business Approach in Promoting Renewable Energy Sources at EU Level
Type de matériel :

Faced with various obstacles to the promotion of renewable energy sources, which is one of the primary objectives of EU energy policy, European institutions have recommended the establishment of a preferential rate for renewable energy sources of electricity (RES-E). Three incentive schemes, which focus on pricing (feed-in tariff) or quantities (competitive bidding and tradable green certificate scheme), will be implemented at national level. However, given their limited efficacy in terms of development of renewable energies and reduction in green electricity costs, they give rise to the issue of their compatibility with the principles of internal market electricity supply. As a result, Directive 2001/77 introduced changes, gradually subjecting the RES-E promotion policy to the logic of the market.
