This article presents the results of a qualitative study involving seven fathers with abusive behaviour who took part in the shortened form of the Caring Dads program (12 weekly sessions) to address their parenting behavior. The program’s primary objective is to prioritize the safety of children and mothers. The study sought to understand the program’s impact on parenting from the participants’ point of view. Through individual, semi-structured interviews, the fathers involved revealed the changes that had occurred with regard to their parenting since joining the program. They became more aware of their children’s needs and began adopting practices intended to prioritize these needs. The participants also began to grasp the impact of their spousal relationship on their children, which led them to modify their thoughts and actions toward the mother. As a result, the Caring Dads program helped fathers pursue the change process and undertake positive transformations regarding their relationships with their children.
