Families affected by violence in militarized contexts in Rio de Janeiro. Gender, race and territory in anti-colonial perspectives
Type de matériel :
1
In this article, I share lessons learned from my research experiences with family members of victims of state violence in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas and regional feminist and anti-racist organizations, developing a reflection based on two complementary lines of argument: 1) the refusal to quantify violations and 2) the refusal to prioritize violence. Government technologies that leave specific traces according to race, gender and territory are analyzed. The theoretical-analytical framework of the debate is constructed from the field of gender, sexuality and violence studies, through which it is possible to understand the processes of feminization of favela territory and the territorialization of gendered and racial violence in militarized contexts.
