Type de matériel :
45
China’s influence on the international political scene relies on its capacity to strengthen its status as a regional power. In order to do so, China must redeploy its foreign policy in Asia, which was traditionally and primarily directed towards East and South-East Asia. This new diplomacy which mainly addresses Central and South Asia corresponds also to its domestic political agenda. Nevertheless ; this policy is thwarted by permanent strategic issues and by numerous tensions limiting China’s ability to become the driving force of regional integration in continental Asia. China’s regional policy, by becoming more inclusive, has global aspirations and allows China to sustain its position as the “Middle Kingdom”. However, this process opens new areas of uncertainty.
