BRICs, the New Major Powers in the Future?
Type de matériel :
9
In the last fifteen years, the rise of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) into the global economy has been quite spectacular. These countries support global growth, represent new booming markets for the West’s industries, and could become the major powers in the future. China has the potential to dwarf the United States, India to match the United States, and Brazil and Russia could be around ten times bigger than any of the current G7. The size of their population is one of the great assets of BRIC. However, each state has considerable challenges to manage so that their potential should become reality. Moreover, with the emergence of these new powers, the structure of global governance clearly needs to change.
