Hegel: The Stakes of Anthropology
Type de matériel :
2
Anthropology refers to the terminus a quo of Hegel’s philosophy of spirit. It highlights the fundamental properties of Spirit (viz unity, self-knowledge and the Aufhebung of « naturality »), while those properties express themselves in a shape that is very close to the one of which spirit is precisely the negativity, namely nature. Anthropology stages affects, passions, and habits, but also ethnic and sexual belonging, and the relation to the body as the « work of art of the soul ». The anthropological spirit aims at taking possession of its pre-given essence and corporeality, thus preparing the liberation in consciousness of its « naturality » as external world.
