Reality According to Nietzsche

Heidegger interprets Nietzschean thought about reality using the vocabulary of metaphysics (essential/existential). Contrary to such a choice, the author here tries to cast a new light on the various kinds of approaches which portray a specific facet of reality in Nietzsche’s work. Thus, after a few philological considerations on the Nietzschean use of Realitat and Wirklichkeit, reality is approached through the Apollo/Dionysus split, within a “musical” perspective, and then as radical future, within the order of the Versuch, before finally being recaptured genealogically within the hypothesis of the will to power. Reality is thus the chaos of forces to which one should “agree,” following a twofold approach of both amor fati and Heiterkeit, which paradoxically shows that reality is meant to be enacted within action (i.e. doing). The tragic becomes a powerful stimulus for existence with such a meaning.
