In a psychiatric institution, a “sculpture” group is shaken by an institutional issue that harms the team’s narcissism and by strong anxieties about collapsing in the patients trying to revindicate phallic and narcissistic desires. The group is suffering. Its leaders will mobilize institutional thinking in the various instances it gives itself in order to understand what takes place in the therapeutic practice with mediation groups. The team can then be served as a “group for thinking about the group” by maintaining psychical work and treatment thanks to its ability to recognize the group’s imagination and its capacity to create mediatized and symbolizing answers.
