Psychoanalytical Relaxation: Processes and Guidance
Type de matériel :
52
Psychoanalytic relaxation targets the subjectivation of the patient, the appropriation of his/her body (anatomic body, desiring body, body with its past, and relational body marked by castration), but also at mobilization of its psychical functioning. The regression induced by relaxation bypasses the person’s usual defenses and facilitates access to unconscious processes, which are possibly less accessible by words alone. The great flexibility of this method (though preferably not the only one used by the therapist) illustrates clinical elements such as transference and counter-transference better than diagnoses. Defects in mental processes and intellectualized words which have lost corporal anchoring, find, in this method, an interesting approach, often allowing for yet a later and completely different process. In a group, the method is enriched by everyone’s differences and numerous associations, which greatly facilitate the overall process.
