Families and Employers Longitudinal Survey (FamEmp) Measuring New Issues in Work-Life Balance and the Role of Firms

This article analyses current changes and challenges for research on work-life balance. It highlights the strengths and limitations of existing statistical surveys to address these issues and presents Families and Employers (FamEmp) longitudinal suvey project, aimed at both employees and employers. Its dissemination within the scientific community will particularly answer three major issues: the effect of new forms of employment and work, particularly teleworking; the situation of family carers of people with disabilities or elderly parents; and the evaluation of the effects of family and business policies.
