Discovered and transcribed by Francesco Saverio Nisio, who has also added to it bibliographic references, this text, which was submitted in 1880 by the young Lucien Lévy to the newly created Revue des études juives and which has remained unpublished since then, draws attention to the “accuracy and insight of [the psychological] observations” made by Spinoza, a “great metaphysician,” that is a “great artist,” in the Ethics.
