What is unfamiliar within oneself. Analytic group in co-therapy and longterm psychosis
Type de matériel :
39
This article deals with the question of the unfamiliar through the clinical experience of psychosis and group psychotherapeutic treatment in co-therapy. The author begins by linking the notion of the unfamiliar with that of identity, underlining the failures of subjective construction in psychotic functioning. The author then examines the function of the analytic group in caring for this population and, in particular, the choice of co-therapy as a setting. The author discusses the defensive function of this choice both for the professional who makes it and for the institution, which is aimed at controlling what seeks to remain unfamiliar for the subject and the collectivity. The author goes on to discuss the creative function of this choice for treating psychotic patients, recommending the use of inter-transferential analysis which makes it possible to understand a part of what seems strange and unfamiliar in the encounter with the psychotic subject.
