The article explores the manifestations of excitation in a group of psychotic patients when faced with the event of a therapist’s pregnancy. It shows the effects of unbinding that this event can have, destabilizing the life of the group and modifying its setting. Through different clinical vignettes, the authors show how the group work can contribute to the elaboration of the effects of excitation and open up a possible path of mentalization.
