The adolescent and his/her family at grips with cancer : how are the group family ties affected?
Type de matériel :
83
For adolescents, the period of adolescence implies entering a maturational process with physical and psychic changes which will entail reorganizations for the whole family group. In this context, the onset of a serious illness like cancer has consequences both for the ill person and for those around them. The adolescent is then faced with two complex events which can have consequences for their own evolution and for family ties. Drawing on two clinical case histories, one observed in the context of a research project, the other in the context of follow-up work in a family care situation, we will illustrate the impact of cancer on the adolescent and his or her family.
