More profitable firms tend to share part of their profits with their workers in the form of higher wages. This phenomenon is called rent-sharing and is found to exist in a multitude of countries. A number of studies have advanced the analysis by examining the roles played by different moderating factors (e.g., gender, education, tenure, level of collective bargaining, country of birth). The aim of this paper is to provide a short summary of the literature devoted to rent-sharing, with a particular focus on the Belgian labor market, and to assess the differences in this phenomenon according to the worker’s country of birth.JEL Classification: D31, J31, J61, J71
