Determinants of the implementation of sustainable practices by SMEs

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2023. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Given the significant economic, social, and environmental impacts of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), they play an essential role in contributing to sustainable development (SD). The current literature, however, provides only a fragmented view of the factors that lead SMEs to implement sustainable practices. It is with this in mind that our study examines various institutional, organizational, and individual factors that may be associated with the implementation of sustainable practices in SMEs. Our survey of 124 Canadian manufacturing SMEs enabled us, on the one hand, to understand the sustainable practices that they implement and, on the other, to establish that individual variables play a key role in the implementation of sustainable practices. These results contribute to knowledge of the key elements that support SMEs in their sustainable development initiatives.
