This article proposes to test the managerial practices implemented within an association using a new analytical framework (Goujon Belghit et al. 2022). The various managerial tools found in the literature very often adopt generalist approaches that do not sufficiently integrate the organizational complexity of social and solidarity economy organizations (Blake and Mouton 1964; Hersey and Blanchard 1969; Lepak and Snell 1999). Although interesting, these approaches remain holistic and do not sufficiently capture organizational complexity. The managerial strategic management matrix developed by Goujon Belghit et al. (2022) suggests different approaches depending on the degree of scarcity or the value of the resource. This matrix is available in 16 managerial possibilities depending on the unit chosen: individual, group, organizational, or inter-organizational. The results obtained show that the matrix must be used with “intelligence,” that is to say that it must be understood opportunistically, depending on the contextual approach chosen and the temporality.
