What career success for tempered radicals?

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2024. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This research examines the impact of tempered radicalism on objective and subjective career success. Based on 21 cases of professionals faced with the commodification of their work in the French voluntary sector, this qualitative study shows the existence of four career success profiles. Using the concepts of courage and political skills as a basis for tempered radicalism, it appears that the first has a negative relationship with objective career success and a positive relationship with subjective career success. The others have a positive relationship with objective career success. The link with subjective career success is not established. The urgency to act appears to be a contextual factor that calls into question the development of political skills and leads to limiting the two forms of career success. By analysing the link between tempered radicalism and career success, this research examines a hitherto ignored reality by highlighting the ability of tempered radicals to take autonomy from the organisational recognition of their work.
