Kierkegaard and Pessoa: The Use of Pseudonyms and Heteronyms
Type de matériel :
57
Søren Kierkegaard and Fernando Pessoa used two similar literary procedures, pseudonyms and heteronyms, to which each attached a different content. Kierkegaard tries in this way to approach the Individual, without having to assume the aesthetic or religious, which he does not fully know how to attain; in the person of Caeiro, Pessoa sketches the characteristics of a new individual, which fictional beings, heteronyms, illustrate in their own way. But it is the concern to exist that is at the heart of the techniques adopted by both authors.
