The Rahnerian approach to spiritual life ‘in grace’ contains a true theology of spiritual experience encompassing the fundamental questions encountered by all lives and all spiritual theology; all the while remaining theological, it respects the particular character of spiritual experience in its difference with systematic theology.The fluidity of grace, its capacity to articulate transcendance and immanence, but also as an initiative of God and of human liberty, the relation it maintains with statements of dogma of the Christian faith – all are valuable for a fundamental spiritual theology in the context of the spiritual once outside the Christian sphere alone.
