The Originality of the Trinitarian Doctrine of the Thomas Aquinas’ Commentary on Saint John’s Gospel

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2015. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : It is possible to uncover in the Thomas Aquinas’ Commentary on the Gospel of Saint John elements of the trinitarian doctrine, original even within the dominican theologian’s body of work. In particular, the axioms governing the activity of the divine persons in the economy of salvation are explicited by the Aquinate in the Commentary. The axioms have a bearing on the manifestation of the principle of the procession of the person who procedes from it, and on the assimilation that the Holy Spirit operates on its principle. Thus appears in Thomas a theology of a « return to the Father » that interprets the economy in light of the trinitarian processions.
