In the context of teacher training at the IUFM Midi-Pyrenees, a regional teachers’ college, this study examines how trainees acquire knowledge and skills and how they experience their training. How trainee teachers perceive their master’s thesis is analyzed. The study focuses on various types of feelings of knowledge relating to the thesis. Case studies of three trainees specialized in literature are presented, while focusing on three dimensions of feeling knowledgeable: the feelings related to identity, epistemology, and writing. Through evident similarities, the results show the unique nature of the “feeling of knowledge” that emerges from students producing their master’s theses.
