Professional development of future teacher trainers

As a part of the “professional didactic and initial teacher training” course offered within the Master of Science in Education at the University of Liège, in-service teachers have to lead a micro-teaching situation followed by an interview with a training facilitator. The present research aims to describe the identity development (Pastré, 2005) of five future teacher trainers during this program. Three different factors of identity development are examined, as regards operational development, the effect of a teaching experience in lower secondary education and the influence of the training facilitator’s attitude during the interview.
