Doctoral and HDR research relevant to adult education in France from 2020 to 2023

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2024. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This article analyzes doctoral theses and accreditation to supervise research (HDR) dissertations focusing on adult education, defended in France between 2020 and 2023. Embracing the principles of open science, the authors concentrated on documents submitted during this period in the open self-archive HAL. Following the methodology developed in previous articles of this series, they searched for the presence of key terms (characteristics of adult education) in the titles or abstracts. Consequently, a “core group” of 85 theses and 5 HDRs, and a “second circle” of 93 other theses and 5 more HDRs were identified. The themes identified in the obtained corpus show little difference from those found in the previous period, despite some notable variations such as the strengthening of lexicons related to “professional didactics” and “employment qualification and counselling”. The increasing prominence of these lexicons likely relates to issues connected to the 2018 law and a rise in formalization through competency frameworks. However, no direct impact of Covid-19 has been detected, most likely due to the temporal proximity of the studied period to the epidemic. More detailed comparisons are planned in the next article of the series.
