The clinical repercussions of the security requirements aimed at preventing repeat offenses by sex offenders may, by impoverishing the clinical observations that they indirectly promote, run the risk of leading to counter-productive practices, not only in terms of collective actions, but also individual ones. In this context, research and elaboration should be the urgent ethical and epistemological response of psychoanalysis.
