Based on Spellbound (Hitchcock 1945), this paper attempts to demonstrate how the master of suspense and Salvador Dali, the most famous surrealist in the United States at the time, each managed to achieve a visualization of the psychoanalytical theory of dreams. It also attempts to elucidate the issue of the “cinematographization of psychoanalysis.”
