Alcohol “in the Singular”: Alcohol and Libido
Type de matériel :

François Perrier, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst (1922–1990), wrote a book in which he describes and analyzes his experience as an alcoholic. Both the title and the content of the book testify to a reality Ferenczi had previously acknowledged: one always drinks in the singular. Drinking results from psychic suffering and does not cause it; it makes it bearable until this “remedy” turns into a poison. We should remember that we owe this knowledge to psychoanalysis.
