The Logical Phases of the Akihabara Massacre

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2015. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : In June 2008, a 25-year-old man murdered seven people and wounded ten others. This event took place right in the middle of the Akihabara district, a symbol of Japanese popular culture. The profile of the perpetrator of this massacre was revealed by the media soon after his arrest: a manga fan, constantly glued to his computer, isolated and marginalized in work environments. Several hypotheses have been put forward as to the cause of this crime committed by a “youth of today,” yet few researchers have taken an interest in the numerous attempts made by the author himself, while in prison, to logically reconstruct and recount the event. This essay focuses on the analysis of this narrative in progress.
