Walter Benjamin and Cannabis
Type de matériel :
56
Walter Benjamin did not use cannabis to escape from reality, but rather to explore it. For him, it had the function of Ariadne’s thread. The happiness procured by this drug allowed him to explore the labyrinth of reality into which no sober subject would have access. Getting high from cannabis was for him a creative process that was comparable to the writing of prose, when the writer unwinds this thread to orient himself in the labyrinth, thereby regressing into childhood.
