Better taking into account people with disabilities: Supporting the interdisciplinarity between design and ergonomics

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2018. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : The aim of “design for all” is to create accessible environments and products adapted to the life situations of as many people as possible. Design for all is focused on a thorough knowledge of the activity and physical and cognitive characteristics of people with disabilities. However, their personalities, lifestyles, and tastes are often eluded in design for all. We propose an interdisciplinary approach, combining product design and ergonomics to better take into account the identity of people with disabilities. Our approach is based on the use of a guide to facilitate the sharing of knowledge of people with disabilities in design and ergonomics. We evaluate the relevance of the guide in a case study, by comparing the amount and the quality of knowledge about the identity of people with disabilities in a design for all approach, with teams that use the guide, or that do not.
