The future life of objects: Reflecting on sustainability through the speculative experience of the “DNA “project

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2019. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This article presents a research-creation project that took the form of an interactive exhibition called “DNA-The Future Life of Objects.” Based on the metaphor of a scientific research lab, the exhibition presents the statements of a manifesto linking the world of objects to the world of living forms, hence the reference to DNA. While establishing a parallel between the system of objects and the world of living organisms, this exhibition provides a critical and original perspective on our relationship with objects and leads to a reflection on the notions of sustainability, environmental degradation, overconsumption, and emotional attachment, while anticipating the potential impacts of connected objects and artificial intelligence on our private lives.
