This article presents a field study conducted over three years in several private healthcare establishments involved in the process of deploying a digital tool: the computerized patient record. Based on the results obtained from several survey materials, we analyze structural, behavioral, and communicational phenomena that work toward the collaborative structuring of new forms of work organization disturbed by a “digitization” of processes. These processes of recomposition and re-shaping of the organization seem to produce new ways of constructing meaning and shaping the actors' routines. The prism of collaborative design is used here to apprehend the mechanisms of these processes through situated organizational recompositions.
