Schools are mainly responsible for dealing with these issues. Children with learning difficulties raise questions in various fields: firstly educational but also psychological, sociological and, more recently, medical. Various rationales are involved depending on the disciplines caught up in the public debate. Their meeting can be interesting as are the effects of their respective orientations on the directions taken by the society to bring collective and/or individual responses aimed at children and teenagers experiencing learning difficulties.
