Ethics is a central issue to modern professions, and especially to medical professions, which used to impose their privileges and define their own limits by negotiating their ethic rules with government. Although some purely prescriptive and doctrinal aspects of medicine seem obsolete today, the reconfigurations that have taken place in medical ethics on the other hand appear to be essential to analyze the changes that take place in a sphere of work shaken by repeated crises.
