The sociologist is today confronted with a complex and plural social world, where the communication activity, the imaginary, the myths and the symbols are more and more important. Michel Maffesoli then underlines the interest and the topicality of the sociology of G. Simmel. The “formism” is able to account for social reality “such as it is given to see”, for the pluralism of the social life, but also to locate structuring forms.
