Age brackets for childhood and youth in health studies

The variability of age limits and age brackets in different health studies is well known. Many national plans aim to distinguish between the needs of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults, in order to tailor interventions to these different age groups, whose contours may vary depending on the angle of analysis envisaged. This article focuses on the French Public Health Code to determine what age brackets this text establishes from birth to the end of youth or the beginning of adulthood: what are these limits, what is their purpose, are they always well-defined or blurred, and are they consistent with each other?
