Concert is the expression of rock sociality. By taking it into account we can understand how rock culture builds, peps up and perpetuates it. It cements the tribe, invigorates the myths and shows to the world the gathering characteristic of this music. The rock culture understanding and empirical approach allows grasping deeply what is enlivening this music and its amateurs. By observing rock concerts, listening to the amateurs and thinking about crowd, sacred, and “magic” according to Marcel Mauss, we can manage to an understanding of this collective phenomenon. The notion of “successful concert” is central in this article. From the several uses in the different parts of the audience to the collective wave, everything is good to succeed to a “successful concert” (melting; music, noises, lights, public and artist uses). At the concert, it is a matter to live with the rhythm of music, the instant and to create a communion between the artist and the audience.
